Lindy Wright Memorial FoundationAngela Yeend, Tuesday, 9 March 2010Nominations are now being accepted for the inaugural Lindy Wright memorial award.
LINDY WRIGHT MEMORIAL FOUNDATION The Trustees are pleased to announce that this Foundation is now functional! The initial Trustees are Ned Wright, Susan Thornley, Liz Duncan, Robyn Stokes, Nicki Wight, Peter Oborn & Kerry Mack [Vic]. The Foundation is somewhat similar in concept to the Anna Savage Memorial Foundation, which gives a Medal & a money prize to a “Best & Fairest” in Three Day Eventing, as well as making substantial donations to other organizations. We would like to publicly thank Scott Donner for his help in getting our organization off the ground. The Lindy Wright Memorial Foundation will award a Medal & a money prize each year to a “Quiet Achiever, promoting excellence in Dressage in South Australia”. The award winner will be selected from nominations received from the dressage community, and will be chosen using the information supplied about each of the criteria on the nomination form. This is not an award for excellence in competition performance alone, although current and past performance will count, but for a rider or other dressage person who contributes to many aspects of the sport of dressage in South Australia. This Award will be presented at the Country Dressage Championships, with the first Award in April 2010. Donations to other dressage-related causes will be considered in due course. Ned Wright has very kindly offered a substantial sum of money to start us off [thank you Ned!!], & we would ask any & all riders to contribute to this worthwhile cause. Cash or cheques may be given to any of the Trustees [a receipt will be issued by the Treasurer], or a direct debit may be made through the ANZ Bank Stirling BSB 015 367 A/C No 5278 67241
[Please make sure we know who has made the deposit]. All donations will be acknowledged publicly unless you wish to remain anonymous. Please use the associated form to nominate anyone you consider worthy!!
