Aus3de to host finale of new ‘Dual Crown’ of Eventing and Jumping series!

As the Southern Hemisphere’s premier equestrian event, the Australian International 3 Day Event (Aus3de) is proud to be hosting the finale of the inaugural ‘Dual Crown’ series of Eventing and Jumping, as recently announced by Equestrian Australia, during the event on 3-6 November 2016.

Aus3de Event Director Gillian Rolton said that Adelaide will provide a spectacular backdrop as host of the finale of the Dual Crown in November and deliver an exciting competition for spectators to the event, with the series sure to attract the best riders and horses from across Australia and New Zealand in both eventing and jumping.

“This year, we’ve introduced the RM Williams CIC3* into the Aus3de competition program which will create an effective pathway for riders to reach the highest level in eventing and to compete in the FEI Classic Series CCI4*, as well as the Dual Crown of Eventing,” she said.

Following on from the success of the show jumping held in 2015 as part of the Equestrian Australia Grand Final, the Aus3DE will also host the Thomas Foods International World Cup Qualifier Show Jumping, which will decide the winner of the Dual Crown of Jumping.

“It is only through the generous sponsorship of the South Australian State Government that this series can be delivered and we have no doubt that this higher level of competition will provide even more incentive for spectators to attend the Australian International 3 Day Event in November,” said Ms Rolton.

The new Dual Crown series will see a number of high profile Australian equestrian events, including the Melbourne International 3 Day Event, Australian Show Jumping Championships, as well as the Australian International 3 Day Event, partnering to deliver a national series of the highest level, offering big prize money for the winner in eventing and jumping.

Equestrian Australian Chair, Judy Fasher said the new ‘Dual Crown’ series will be a first for Australia’s equestrian competitors and will recognise equestrian events held to the highest level in eventing and jumping throughout Australia.

“We are very excited by this initiative and see the ‘Dual Crown’ series putting Australia’s equestrian competition offerings on par with what is on offer in Europe and North America” said Mrs Fasher.

The 2016 Australian International 3 Day Event (Aus3DE) is the pinnacle of horse sports in Australia and is one of the six top level Federation Equestre International (FEI) Classic Series events held around the world annually.

The event will be held in Adelaide Thursday 3rd to Sunday 6th November 2016. For more information visit www.australian3de.com.au.
