Membership Benefits
We recognise that everyone joins our sport for a different reason and that not everyone intends to compete at the highest level of the sport.
Whether you’re a volunteer, official, owner, coach or you just like to compete at the lower levels of the sport with your horse and friends, we want to ensure there are appropriate categories for everyone.
Equestrian SA offers a number of different membership categories depending on your competitive level and requirements. Our membership is financial year.

Competitor Membership (Senior - $460.00 & Junior - $245.00)
What is a Competitor Member?
Competitor Membership is available to those that compete at the higher levels of equestrian sport. It allows the member to compete at any level of the sport that they are qualified to do so.
Competitor Members are able to:
- Participate in all levels of competition in the sport
- Register horses
- Purchase competition licences
- Covered by 24/7 Personal Accident and Public Liability Insurance
- Vote at ESA board elections and AGM's (18+ only)
- Access EA & State Communications
- Access accredited education programs
- Attend the ESA Annual Awards Night
Participant Membership (Senior - $305.00 & Junior - $205.00)
What is a Participant Member?
Participant membership is available to those who actively participate and contribute to lower level competition and training opportunities in equestrian sport.
Participant Members are able to:
- Participate in the introductory levels of competition (see Membership Information Brochure for more information on level restrictions)
- Register horses
- Covered by 24/7 Personal Accident and Public Liability Insurance
- Vote at ESA board elections and AGM's (18+ only)
- Access to EA & State Communications
- Access accredited education programs
- Attend the ESA Annual Awards Night
Recreational Membership (Senior - $200.00 & Junior - $85.00)
What is a Recreational Member?
Recreational membership is for members who enjoy horse riding and doing equestrian activities for pleasure. (NON COMPETITIVE)
Recreational members will be able to ride and own a horse knowing they are covered with 24/7 insurance while exercising, having lessons, going on a trail ride and so much more.
Recreational Members are able to:
- Covered by 24/7 Personal Accident
- Covered by 24/7 Public Liability Insurance
- Access to EA & State Communications
- Attend the ESA Annual Awards Night
Supporter Membership
Supporter Official - $185.00
Supporter Coach - $320.00
Owner or Other - $310.00
What is a Supporter Member?
Supporter membership is available to those that contribute to the competitive environment of equestrian sport but do not participate in competitions, such as owners, family members (parents) or non-competing coaches.
They are recognised as having a significant contribution to the sport and give back through their various areas. It also applies to EA accredited officials (your name must appear on an officials list with one of the EA disciplines) who do not compete.
Supporter Official, Coach, Owner or Other Members are able to:
- Register horses
- Purchase competition licenses
- Covered by 24/7 Personal Accident and Public Liability Insurance
- Vote at ESA board elections and AGM's (18+ only)
- Access EA & State Communication
- Access accredited education programs
- Attend the ESA Annual Awards Night

What is a Supporter Volunteer?
Supporter volunteer membership is available to those that contribute to the competitive environment of equestrian sport but do not participate in competitions, or are members on the ESA Board or a member of an ESA Discipline Committee.
They are recognised as having a significant contribution to the sport and give back through their various areas.
Supporter Volunteers are able to:

- Access EA & State Communication
- Access accredited education programs
