Executive Officer (0.65 FTE)

Equestrian South Australia

Equestrian South Australia (ESA) is the peak body that administers equestrian sport in South Australia under the rules and standards set by Equestrian Australia and the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI). ESA’s role is to promote, develop and grow the equestrian sports of Dressage, Eventing, Jumping, Interschool, Show Horse, Vaulting and Carriage Driving throughout South Australia, and enable sport committees and more affiliated clubs, to deliver competition and education opportunities in a safe environment.

We are looking for a professional, multi-skilled leader for this diverse and challenging role. Reporting to the Board, your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Providing leadership, strategic direction and overall management to ESA staff and implementing ESA Directors' visions
  • Applying for and completing grant acquittals and sponsorship opportunities
  • Developing ESA's culture and values-build reputation with all key stakeholders, staff, members, suppliers, partners and regulatory bodies
  • Preparing and delivering Board reports and minutes
  • Understanding, reviewing and improving policies, procedures and by-laws in accordance with national standards and framework
  • Building strong and effective relationships with key stakeholders, including discipline committees and other volunteers to ensure the effective operational activity of equestrian sports across Australia
  • Working with the Finance, Audit & Risk Management Committee to oversee financial delegation and status of the organisation.

To be successful in this role you will have demonstratable experience in a broad general management role of a similar nature, and a sound ability to navigate challenging situations and individual concerns.

Professional experience at a state sporting organisation level is favourable. Some out of normal business hours work will be required.

A current Working with Children Check is required as part of this role.
