About Equestrian SA

Equestrian South Australia is the peak body for horse sports in South Australia and is a state body of Equestrian Australia, which is the governing body for horse sports in Australia and is affiliated with the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI), the governing body for horse sports worldwide. Equestrian South Australia maintains affiliations with relevant Government and Non-Government agencies at the State level, for example the Office of Sport & Recreation and Racing South Australia and Sport SA.

Equestrian South Australia is a non-profit organisation incorporated under the Associations Incorporations Act of South Australia. It comprises of individual members, affiliated clubs, life members, coaches and officials.

Position purpose

The Finance Officer (FO) provides financial and administrative support to colleagues, customers, suppliers, members, and stakeholders of the organisation. The role has the responsibility for account keeping services and producing reports and managing accounts in consultation with the EO.

Position Responsibilities

  • Provide account keeping services.
  • Reconciliation of bank accounts.
  • Prepare, finalise accounts payable (including statutory payments), receivable.
  • Prepare batch payments for export.
  • Support the annual budget process in consultation with the EO.
  • Prepare regular, periodic financial reports, all accounts, external funders.
  • Provide annual financial performance reports for audit in consultation with the EO.
  • Provide support and work with the Discipline Committees.
  • Provide membership services with a customer focus.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Account keeping experience.
  • Proficiency in using finance systems (Xero) and processes.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a proactively diverse and inclusive organisation.
  • Excellent and proven interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to share skills and knowledge with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask.
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Current motor vehicle license.
  • Current working with children check.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience

  • Minimum qualification Advanced Diploma in accounting
