ESA - Position Vacant

Equestrian South Australia (ESA) is the primary governing body for horse sports in South Australia.

ESA is one of the 7 State Associations which unite to comprise Equestrian Australia - the National Sporting Body - which in turn is then affiliated with the FEI, the International Equestrian body.

Simply, we have a vision for our members to share the love of the horse regardless of what type and level of competition they ride in.  We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative Executive Officer, with a passion for horses, to lead and inspire our team.

Reporting to the Board, the successful candidate will: -

  • Manage the day to day operations of ESA;
  • Provide inspirational leadership to the ESA executive team and staff, the Equestrian community, partners and stakeholders, ensuring ESA delivers on its purpose and values in line with strategic goals;
  • Lead innovation around digital transformation, service offerings, safety and quality;
  • Continue to build ESA brand equity and drive sustainable growth;
  • Forge relationships across the state and national sector, influencing and shaping policy where appropriate;
  • Ensure governance, compliance and risk management structures are robust and optimized;
  • Lead the production of social media content including during events and clinics;
  • Review and publish content to our website;
  • Spearhead the identification of marketing opportunities aligned to ESA’S objectives;
  • Assist with sponsorship agreements and manage relationships with sponsors; and
  • Provide board support across a number of areas including preparation of board documents, and execution and feedback on other issues as required.

The successful candidate should possess the strategic vision, energy and inspiration to grow an organisation and have a proven ability to manage multiple, sometimes complex tasks and meet deadlines.  An understanding of equestrian sport is desirable, but not essential.

Equestrian South Australia believes that diversity and inclusion will be central to our success and would encourage candidates who will bring diversity to apply. The role can be full time, but if this doesn't suit you, we encourage you to speak to us to see what flexible arrangements we can agree to.  Our office is in Mt Barker, and you will spend some time working from the office.  Other days you will work from home if that allows you to better balance your work and life.
