Equestrian South Australia and Be Active Youth Development Scholarship Weekend

Celebrating 25 years - 1991 to 2016

The 2016 Show Horse Scholarship weekend will take place over two days on Saturday, 9th and Sunday, 10th July 2016 at the Indoor Arena, 331 Ferris McDonald Road, Monarto South.

This is a smoke and alcohol free weekend | Closing date for Show Horse applications is 4pm on Friday 24th June 2016.

One person will be chosen from each discipline and awarded the 2016 ESA and Be Active Scholarship winning $500 worth of coaching with an EA Accredited Coach of your choice.

Who can enter?

Current junior/senior ESA members between the ages of 12 and 21 years.

Cost to participants

It does not cost anything to enter, however, finalists will be asked to pay for a ticket to the annual ESA Awards Night. Up to 10 finalists in each discipline will be selected to receive intensive coaching by Kim Durante (Qld).

What is expected of finalists?

You may enter for only one discipline. Finalists will be advised of the lesson times in the week prior to the weekend.  Finalists are encouraged to stay and watch other lessons.  It is planned that an information evening will be held during the October school holidays conducted by the selector, Ms Kelli Probert.  All finalists will be required to attend.

You will be assessed over the duration of the weekend by the Coach and Selector on performance, horsemanship, knowledge of discipline, attitude, ability and potential. 

All finalists are required to attend the Equestrian SA Annual Awards Night to be held at the end of January 2015. It is a condition of attending the scholarship weekend that participants attend this evening at a cost of approximately $90 per head.

Persons under 16 years must be supervised by parent or guardian.
