Upcoming Community Workshops

With the Winter sporting season almost upon us, now is the time to make sure we have correctly trained personnel in place.

SASMA has a number of workshops coming up that will help ensure player safety.

Concussion Forums:

Concussion Education continues to be at the forefront of Community Sport. SASMA is again running free Commnity Concussion Forums, to help educate the entire sporting community about the importance of correct concussion management and returning to play. These forums are presented by leading Sports and Exercise Physicians and Sports Doctors who are regularly seeing concussion in their clinics.

We have a number of Concussion Forums running in both metro and regional locations, with more forums being added to the list.

  • April 13th - Riverland Concussion Forum, Loxton Football Club
  • April 14th - Metro Concussion Forum, Netball SA Stadium
  • May 2nd - Mid North Concussion Forum, Port Pirie Sport Precinct

Registrations are available via our webiste: https://bit.ly/3wckPwz

Level 1 & 2 Sports Trainer Courses:

There are many clubs that are looking for Sports Trainers to assist them with the upcoming season. Sports Trainers can assist with injury prevention and management for a club or team. They are an essential part of the off field team keeping our sport safe.

SASMA are running a number of Level 1 & Level 2 Sports Trainer Courses across the state to ensure that Clubs have qualified personnel in place.

Injury Prevention & Management Workshops:

If your clubs are struggling to fill trainer roles, then perhaps an introduction to Injury Prevention and Management might be a good fit. SASMA's Sideline Help course, takes a first aid course and makes it Sports Specific. It provides the perfect introduction to a Sports Trainer role, and can be a asset to clubs struggling to find trainers.

These courses can be linked with a basic taping and run for large groups.

If you would like more information on these courses, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
