2026/27 Membership Information

We acknowledge the delay in opening memberships this year and thank you for your patience. This is something out of our control and we apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.

In the meantime, we suggest you read the below to assist you with a smooth renewals process once we get the go ahead.

Understanding Your Membership Fees

Equestrian Australia (EA) and all State and Territory Branches are pleased to confirm the 2026–27 membership fee structure, following a collaborative annual review.

This process involved EA, State Branch Chairs and Boards working together to ensure membership remains as affordable as possible, while continuing to support the services, safety standards and programs that underpin equestrian sport across Australia.

What this means for you

Your membership is made up of two parts:

  • EA (national) component
  • State Branch component

The EA and ESA fees will show separately at checkout.

Together, these fund both the national framework and the local delivery of the sport — ensuring consistency, safety and support for members at every level.

Importantly, this year:

  • The IT Levy has been removed, helping offset increases for many members
  • A competitive insurance review has been undertaken to ensure value

How your membership supports you

EA (national) services include:

  • National rules, policies and competition frameworks
  • Participation pathways and national championships
  • Coach, official and education programs
  • Member insurance arrangements
  • Governance, integrity, and health & safety standards
  • National systems, including improvements to the membership portal
  • National coordination and advocacy

State Branch services include:

  • Local member services and administration
  • Support for clubs, volunteers and organising committees
  • Officials Clinics
  • Competition delivery and calendar coordination
  • Local coach and official support
  • Implementation of national rules and safety standards
  • Member communications and stakeholder engagement
  • Advocacy with government, venues and partners

How fees were set

In setting the 2026–27 fees, EA and State Branches:

  • Reviewed forecast expenditure across national and state operations
  • Looked for efficiencies to reduce duplication and costs
  • Sought to minimise increases wherever possible
  • Worked to distribute costs more equitably across membership categories

Our focus for the year ahead

Over the next 12 months, EA and the State Branches will continue to focus on:

  • Strengthening integrity and safeguarding the sport
  • Enhancing health and safety initiatives
  • Improving systems, including the membership portal
  • Expanding education for coaches and officials
  • Identifying further efficiencies to deliver better value for members

Working together as one sport

EA and the State Branches are committed to working together as a unified national system — improving transparency, reducing duplication and ensuring your membership delivers clear and consistent value.

Need a Horse Licence at Renewal?

To add licences for your horse/s, you will need to:

  1. First complete and pay for your membership renewal, then
  2. Return to the membership portal and add your licences (do this via the Horse Hub) and then checkout again

There is a change to the Horse Competition Licence fees this year:

  • New ESA Competition Licence Fee - $52 per licence.

Note: the ESA fee of $40 has not changed, however EA now have an ‘EA Sport Licence Fee’. For the 26/27 Membership Year, all licences will incur a $12 EA levy.

The EA and ESA fees will show separately at checkout.

Horse Registration
Horse registration is a one-off lifetime registration fee, not an annual charge, and you can upgrade from Base to Full at any time by paying the difference. Full information on horse registration, upgrades and transfers can be found here.

You can apply to register a horse via the membership portal, in the Horse Hub Section. Need help registering a horse or buying a licence - view the How To Guides.

Finally, as part of your renewal process we recommend you review the status of any registered horses you may have, and if they have any missing information from the migration process from Nominate. Contact the office if you need help updating any of these.

If you have any questions about your membership, please contact the Equestrian South Australia office for assistance – [email protected] or 8391 0488

Thank you for your ongoing support.
