Equestrian South Australia Welcomes Reece Turner as Executive Officer

Equestrian South Australia is pleased to announce the appointment of Reece Turner as its new Executive Officer.

Reece brings extensive experience in sporting administration, operations and leadership, with a strong background working within member-based sporting organisations.

Most recently, Reece has held the position of Executive Officer with SA Country Basketball, where he has worked across governance, stakeholder engagement, operational management and the delivery of programs supporting sporting associations and their communities.

His broader experience also includes roles with the Adelaide Lightning and the Adelaide 36ers Foundation, providing Reece with a strong understanding of the opportunities and challenges involved in delivering sport within both professional and community environments.

The appointment follows a comprehensive recruitment process undertaken by the ESA Board and represents an important step in strengthening the organization’s operational leadership and its support for members, clubs, disciplines and volunteers across South Australia.

ESA Chair Wendy Hunt said the Board was delighted to welcome Reece to the organisation.

“Reece brings a combination of strong operational experience, leadership capability and an understanding of member-based sport that we believe will be extremely valuable to Equestrian South Australia.

“Throughout the recruitment process, Reece demonstrated a genuine understanding of the importance of supporting our members, volunteers, clubs and disciplines, while also recognising the opportunities we have to strengthen ESA as an organisation.

“The Board is looking forward to working with Reece as we continue to build a strong, sustainable and well-supported future for equestrian sport in South Australia.”

Reece said he was looking forward to joining ESA and working with the broader equestrian community.

“I’m excited to be joining Equestrian South Australia and look forward to getting to know the people who make the sport possible across the state.

“ESA has a passionate community of members, volunteers, clubs and disciplines, and I’m looking forward to working alongside them and the Board to build on the organisation’s strengths and identify opportunities for the future.”

As Executive Officer, Reece will lead ESA’s day-to-day operations and work closely with the Board, staff, disciplines, clubs, members and key stakeholders. His role will include a focus on organisational leadership, governance and administration, stakeholder relationships, commercial and funding opportunities, and strengthening the support ESA provides to the equestrian community.

The ESA Board would also like to acknowledge the contribution of its staff, volunteers and discipline representatives who have continued to support the organisation and its members during the recruitment and transition period.

Please join us in welcoming Reece Turner to Equestrian South Australia.

Reece will commence in the Executive Officer role on the 7th of September.
